Capabilities

What the shop can hold, in what material, at what size. If your part sits outside these numbers, say so in the RFQ — we will tell you straight whether it is ours to make.

Achievable tolerances

Standard versus tight.

Standard is what we hold without special fixturing or extra inspection, at standard price. Tight is achievable and quoted with the additional setup and measurement it requires.

FeatureStandardTight (quoted)
Linear dimension, milled± 0.05 mm± 0.010 mm
Hole diameter, reamed± 0.02 mm± 0.005 mm
Turned diameter± 0.03 mm± 0.008 mm
Flatness, ground face0.02 mm0.003 mm
Surface finish, milledRa 1.6 µmRa 0.4 µm
Wire EDM corner radius0.25 mm0.10 mm

Drawings dimensioned to ISO 2768-mK unless a tighter class is specified. GD&T to ASME Y14.5 is read and honoured.

Volumes & lead times

Prototype to production, same shop.

Volume 01

Prototype · 1–10 pieces

For design verification, where the drawing may still change. Programmed and run on the 5-axis machines to avoid multi-setup errors.

  • Lead time 5 working days
  • Dimensional report included
  • Rush 48 h available
Volume 02

Bridge · 10–500 pieces

Soft-jaw fixturing and a proven program, before committing to hard tooling. Where most of our customers live.

  • Lead time 10–15 days
  • First article approval
  • Price break at 50 & 200
Volume 03

Production · 500+ / year

Dedicated fixtures, unattended overnight running and a blanket order with scheduled monthly releases.

  • Kanban or scheduled release
  • SPC on nominated features
  • Consignment stock possible

Engineering support

We read the drawing before we price it.

Every RFQ gets a manufacturability review from a programmer, not a sales desk. Typical notes we send back:

  • A ±0.01 mm callout on a clearance hole that only needs ±0.1 mm
  • An internal corner radius smaller than any cutter — EDM or relief needed
  • A pocket depth-to-width ratio that will chatter and cost you finish
  • Two datums that cannot both be held in one setup
  • A material grade with a 6-week lead time when an equivalent is on the shelf
